Zero relevant experience. Zero ideas. Zero change that we can believe in.
Zero reasons to vote for Barack Obama.

Barack Obama presents himself as a visionary with bold new ideas. His supporters believe that he transcends politics. Obama is a gifted orator, and he has marketed his image brilliantly by avoiding the specifics. But when you examine the substance of his platform, an undeniable pattern is present.

Barack Obama's actual ideas are outdated and irresponsible. Many of his positions are surprisingly radical. Much of what he's promised is impractical, some of it is impossible. At it's core, a hypothetical Barack Obama Presidency would be, at best, four years of gridlock. More likely, his presidency would be in substance a repeat of Jimmy Carter's single term. At worst, an Obama Presidency could result in rigid new policies and wasteful increases in bureaucracy. It might take years to fully dig out from the mess he could make.

  • Obama positions himself as a leader, a uniter, and a visionary. But what is the basis for his image? Very little. You might be surprised to learn how little of substance there is to the Obama oeuvre. His skills are abstract at best, and his talents are better suited for academia, not the world of politics. • Barack Obama says that Washington in general, and the Republican party in specific, is too divisive. The most divisive issue in the US today is abortion on demand. On that issue, Obama is a far-left radical with a shocking legislative record and a history of strange public statements. Read more here.

  • Obama's positions on any number of topics change with the wind. He often modifies his stance to suit his audience. His efforts to finesse his conflicting statements into some sort of consistency are often outright embarrassing. Read more here.

  • Senator Obama's world view presents a candidate unsuited to the defense of America. What's more, his administration would actually be more likely to produce results beneficial to those who have attacked the US ...and plan to attack us again. Read more here.

  • Health care reform is important to most Americans, specifically in terms of medical insurance. John McCain has advanced a plan that would allow for competition between insurance companies. This is a proven marketing strategy that always drives down prices and improves quality and the range of choices. Obama's plan, on the other hand, is based on wishful thinking and bad ideas. If implemented, his policies will make most American's worse off, not better. Read more here.

  • Obama's positions and statements on foreign policy have not only reflected his lack of experience, they've exposed his surprising immaturity. Read more here.

Barack Obama is brilliant, successful, and undeniably inspirational. His is a uniquely American story, and he provides an example of a success story that we can all hold up for our children. Obama is, in many ways, very admirable.

But he is not a leader. He is not a visionary. Barack Obama is an academic radical and left-wing ideologue who still clings to ideas that seem counter to his own example. His policies are irresponsible. His image is cut from whole cloth. His stance on any of the important issues is, at best, given to change with the polls.

Barack Obama is not the president America needs in 2008.
