Never Underestimate The Power Of Stupid People In Large Groups
This is from How Obama Got Elected . Com:
Who voted for Barack Obama ... and just how much do those voters really grasp about the issues of the day? John Ziegler spent some time with some of Obama's supporters and got some interesting answers:
They can't tell you who Harry Reid is, they don't know who Barney Frank is ... but they by God know which candidate has a pregnant teenage daughter.
Congratulations, America, you've elected your first Reality TV Show President.
And he won the immunity challenge, so he doesn't have to leave the house for at least four years.
Ziegler has some interesting data from a Zogby Poll to back up his assertions:
512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points
97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates
Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions
57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
And yet.....
Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)
Emphasis above is mine. Palin gossip is entirely the MSMs.
In the words of Albert Camus, "Stupidity has a knack for getting its way."

I just pray that we survive these next 4 years so that we can get the right people into office in 2012.
I voted for McCain. I truly appreciate his service in Vietnam on that swift boat. Also, I really liked watching him and Ed McMahon on the Tonight Show.
Sincerely,
The Governor

Stop the presses!! The majority of Americans get their facts from MSM and get it wrong? Wow, that is truly shocking and dis... Oh wait, it's not.
Okay well it is disturbing, but not for the reasons you guys think it is.

Scott: Okay well it is disturbing, but not for the reasons you guys think it is.
I can't imagine how you could spin this so that it's disturbing in some other way. Some way other than a sign that the majority of the electorate (52% at the minimum) is a giant clump of morons.

Speaking as a "moron" at least by your definition I'm guessing, the way I "spin" this is that a) this doesn't indicate that 52% of people are morons. It indicates that most Americans are woefully uneducated about our government and how it works. Voting for Obama was not stupid. Were there stupid reasons for voting for Obama? Sure. Were there stupid reasons for voting for McCain? Sure. There were smart reasons to vote for each too. Calling your fellow Americans stupid for doing something you disagree with is pretty pointless imo and it doesn't foster anything that looks like communication. Of course that assumes that you want to communicate.
