Iran's Hizbollah "Ready For War" With The US

This is getting uglier by the minute.

Iran's Hizbollah, which claims links to the Lebanese group of the same name, said on Tuesday it stood ready to attack Israeli and the U.S. interests worldwide.

"We have 2,000 volunteers who have registered since last year," said Iranian Hizbollah's spokesman Mojtaba Bigdeli, speaking by telephone from the central seminary city of Qom.

"They have been trained and they can become fully armed. We are ready to dispatch them to every corner of the world to jeopardise Israel and America's interests. We are only waiting for the Supreme Leader's green light to take action. If America wants to ignite World War Three ... we welcome it," he said.

I'm trying to follow this crisis, but there's so much stuff out there on the net, and it's hard to sort out the real, objective news from subjective interpretation and speculation.

Google News, for instance, links to this blatantly anti-semantic, left wing site… and links to it as a news source. Not an opinion piece, but a news source. If you don't know the difference, you can end up manipulated by what you read. So just be careful.

Even the major media reports things that might amount to speculation.

The American Papist is doing a good job of following the crisis from a viewpoint that I feel comfortable trusting… and this Wikipedia article, which seems to be under constant update, might be a good source.

Don't brush this off. Remember, the picture to the right is an accurate representation of how these people raise their children. They are bred to hate and taught to kill from the minute they make their first steps away from the crib. Don't underestimate their reach, their power, or their potential for destruction.

Comments:
Darrell, I heard a former CIA operative on the radio a couple of days ago and he said the same thing that you are saying: "Don't brush this off." My problem with that is I don't know what to do to NOT brush it off. Besides keeping up with the news, what are we to do? I'm not trying to sound provocative or anything. This thing has me downright scared, but I don't know how to DO anything.

I did tell the better half that I am seriously ready to stock up on canned beans and tuna, water, and also hefty supplies of booze and cigarettes.

My mom keeps shaking her head and saying, "Trust me, this is no Cuban Missile Crisis." I say NOT YET. URGH. Everyone thinks I'm overreacting.

Love your enemies; pray for them.

Darrell, I've been reading your blog for some time. Jamie Dawn sent me over here when she heard that I'd reverted to Catholicism - she thought I'd enjoy your blog. And I do.

I think the first post of yours I read was on Brokeback Mountain and I laughed my head off.

Keep up the good work.

Too sad, to see children used in such a fashion.

Those kids need our prayers as much as Israel does.

We should build some fusion reactors, drill for domestic and close offshore oil, become energy independent, and tell them to go eat sand.

Amen!

I saw a clip of a cartoon that kids in Iran watch. It was an example of what they are exposed to at an early age. The cartoon had a kid strapping a bomb on himself and jumping onto a truck and exploding the bomb. The next scene is of corpses lying all over the ground all bloody.
You are so right about how terrorists train their kids to hate. It is part of their upbringing.
This escalating conflict in Lebanon is frightening.
I hope Israel is successfull in defeating Hezbollah in Lebanon, but I realize that terror exists far outside of there. Iran, Syria and others are waiting in the wings and must be stopped.

I agree with Name Hidden. We should have accomplished that by now, given the oil "scare" we had in the 70's.

August 2002: "Regime change in Iraq would bring about a number of benefits to the region: extremists in the region would have to rethink their strategy of jihad, moderates throughout the region would take heart, and our ability to advance the Israel/Palestinian peace process would be enhanced."
-- Dick Cheney (wrong as usual)

Ray B: (wrong as usual)

Yep, that's right. Congratulations on your insight and your ability to read between the lines and see that VP Cheney meant that those positive changes would happen OVER NIGHT. You're right, those changes haven't happened at a rate you find acceptable, and that means that Cheney is wrong, as usual.

I sure am glad I'm not cursed with the burden of having everything figured out the way you do, Ray.
