Why I Threw The Newspaper Across The Table This Morning
Wanna see the most patently transparent, shamless and offensive political cartoon I've seen in ages?
Oh, I dunno... maybe what Uncle Sam should be saying is "Next time, when you're told to evacuate, GET THE %&%# OUT!
Then again, I'm a conservative, so I still buy into all that "personal accountability" crap.
The Democrats and liberals are shameless... they're gonna play this "Blame Bush for Katrina" game during every federal election for the next God-knows-how-many years.
It's sick.
As usual, Day By Day hits the nail on the head:
Derek Gilbert nailed it, too:
The next time you see New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin on TV complaining about the government’s failure to help, remember this photo:
And then ask: Why didn’t Mayor Nagin use his city’s school buses to carry people to safety when he ordered his “mandatory” evacuation?
But Democrats like Nagin and Blanco couldn't be accountable for any of this, could they? Democrats, after all, are never accountable for ANYTHING.

Darrell, it appears you have been living under a rock for the past 6 years, so let me bring you up to speed...
The media hates conservatives, especially Christian Conservatives, and most especially Bush.
Bush could have, oh, for the sake of argument, told the Democrat Governor of Louisiana and Democrat Mayor of New Orleans to evacuate by any means available and prepare for the worse and ready the National Gaurd, and the media would still say that he dropped the ball when neither of the on-the-scene, supposed-to-be responsible public officials did anything. Even if the media does mention this, they say the buck stops with the President. State autonomy be damned. Except of course if the President is trying to save the life of a bed-bound woman; then the media is all about states' rights...
Does that clear it up?

That clears it up perfectly, J-No... and your point about Florida and the Schiavo case, as it relates to the current mess in New Orleans, has me even angrier. Excellent point. I'm furious about it.
The worst part is that I hate to think that the "Economy Levers" in Bush's control room were being unmanned while Bush was busy steering Hurricane KKKatrina. We're just lucky that the stock market didn't crash. Oh, and I notice that it's getting into flu season now...let's hope he hasn't forgotten to push the flu vaccine availability button. I think we should order mandatory annual recertification to be allowed into the Presidential control room.
