Like a Peanut Butter and Tuna Salad Sandwich
Some things, while great on their own, do not go well together. I love Metallica, and I love bluegrass, but I DO NOT love this.

Yeah, I think you're probably right. But I'd like to hear some of the tunes. On the very rare occasion, in the hands of real talent, peanut butter and tuna can meld (a good sauce?).
I've heard really good bluegrass arangements of songs by Phish, the Grateful Dead, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and the Beatles... but I sampled the bluegrass arangements of those Metallica songs and they sounded like crass parodies. Somebody got the idea that they could make a buck with that album, is my guess.
OK, your review saves me the money.
A musician associate of mine who plays rock as well as bluegrass once told me every bluegrass song could be sung to the tune of "The Beverly Hillbillies" theme song. We were sitting in a bluegrass jam and he proceeded to show me. You know something? He was right.
